19TH Century Walnut Wood Call Button

In the 19th century raising one’s voice to call others in the home was frowned upon and considered vulgar. Bring back a more gentile time with this charming method. The parts unscrew to install a wire that then goes to a doorbell system just like a doorbell button would. How refined your home will be with this addition!

The wood is in very good condition with no cracks or splits. There are a couple of chips to the beading which you can see in the photos. The push button and finial appear to be made of an early plastic or even perhaps bone. They are both a creamy white with some discoloration from age and use.
