When there is a salvage operation in an old building some interesting items can be found in addition to hardware! This is an old black Bakelite inkwell complete with empty ink bottle. Use for your collection or just toss the bottle and have a neat pen holder and container for ?

I see some of what might be cracks in the bakelite on the bottom and one on the back. Since it would no longer hold liquid they don’t much matter and the one on the back is almost invisible. It is missing 2 of the little rubber things for the legs on the bottom.
