1895 Passage Doorknob Set with Latch – Reading “Montello”

This doorknob set was manufactured by Reading Hardware around 1895 in their Montello design.  Made of wrought bronze the pieces have aged to a dark caramel patina making the details warm and subtle.  Polish the high points if you wish but I personally prefer them this way.  

The original latch is included and has been cleaned & oiled to operate perfectly.  A super easy installation!  There are no dents or dings on any piece.  The only items to note are some VERY tiny speckles of paint on the front of one knob (you can see them on the main photo more than “in person”) and a couple of places on the edge of the other knob that have patina loss.  I removed some paint with a fingernail and they will darken naturally over time.

Rosettes:  2” diameter
Latch requires a bore 3-1/8” deep x 1-1/4” high x 1/2” wide
Distance from the edge of the door to the center of the doorknob hole is 2-9/16”
